Watching someone go through a difficult time is never easy.

Of course, unless we are the person experiencing it firsthand, we cannot claim to truly understand or know their pain. However, when we witness the suffering of someone we love—or even someone simply sharing the same era as us—we, too, feel that pain in some form.

The saying that “wounds caused by people are healed by people” may sound overused, almost cliché. But at the same time, I wonder if there is any other phrase that will remain just as true and universally understood a hundred, even two hundred years from now.

Sometimes, simply being by someone’s side—without doing anything special—can be an invisible yet profound source of strength.

A single phrase, “I’ll be by your side,” can be a lifeline for someone struggling, offering them a breath of relief and the strength to keep going.

I hope we can live in a world where we do not remain indifferent to each other’s pain—a world where we can be each other’s safe haven.
