Siwa’s understated vocals and Angella Kim’s delicate piano performance come together to hold onto emotions that seem as if they might scatter at any moment.

There are times when people say, “Are we still talking about Sewol?”

And then we see the same hateful language once directed at the victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy being repeated in the wake of the Itaewon disaster.

When that happens, my heart grows heavy.

This song is not a memorial piece, nor does it offer any outlook for the future.

It’s merely a confession.

On that day, I felt shame and devastation as a fellow human being—and regret as an adult.

And I continue to live with that regret.

Though this confession may be small and inadequate,
I sincerely hope it brings even the slightest comfort
to those who lost their loved ones and to the survivors.
